A young Seychellois artist is living his passion for art and music
(Seychelles News Agency) - Dream big, dream in broad daylight and not only at night, says a young Seychellois artist.
Isham Rath is living his dream through art and music. The 19-year old from La Misere on the main island Mahe is hitting the airwaves with his newly released single ‘Ferm ou lizye’ which means "close your eyes."
Art and music are not only Rath’s passion but they are also in his blood as he comes from a family of artists.

“I wouldn’t say I was inspired to become an artist; I just found myself on stage at a young age. It was something that just happened, something as natural as learning how to eat that my mum made it flow easily without any difficulties,” said Rath.
His mother is an event decorator and also directed a children’s musical group ‘Doves Choir.’ Rath and his sister Isis were part of the group.
Rath’s father is a contractor and his two brothers Collin and Brandon are members in a musical group called ‘Collective Souls’.

Rath’s father is a contractor and his two brothers Collin and Brandon are members in a musical group called ‘Collective Souls’.
The young artist joins his brothers sometimes while performing in restaurants, hotels and private functions around the islands.
“I love performing with all three of them. The atmosphere when we play is incredible. When I play with Brandon it’s like entering another world, we can go on for hours and hours,” Rath tells SNA.
Rath says he has progressed in his music more than with this art.
“With my music, I have reached a point that I can express myself in different situations for you to understand my emotions through my vocals, lyrics and everything else. With my paintings, I haven’t reached a personal level yet because I only had to do it for my exams.”

Rath has just graduated from the school for advanced level studies and was awarded the prize for being the best performer in the art & design course.
The 19-year old says he is not pursuing further studies at the moment until he has a better idea of who he is as a painter. He is currently helping his parents with the family business, but his priority is to focus on producing his first solo album.
