(Seychelles News Agency) - One of Seychelles’ leading IT firms VCS has been awarded the ‘Xerox Africa Operations Distributor of the Year 2013’ by Bytes Documents Solutions of South Africa, according to a press statement from VCS.

The Seychelles company received the award at the annual Xerox Africa Distributors Conference held in April at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa. Bytes Documents Solutions is the authorised distributor of Xerox office products and document management solutions in 26 sub-Saharan African countries.

According to VCS, the award celebrates the company’s ‘Xerox sales growth, services and innovation in the Seychelles.’

“VCS has clearly demonstrated its commitment to providing superior solutions and support for its Xerox customers, and this award is a clear indication of the company’s dedication, hard work and customer-centric ethos”.

Stephen Faure, Xerox Business Development Manager for Seychelles also won the award of  ‘Xerox Sales Manager for the year 2013 – 2014’ title at the same ceremony.

“Our company has been offering Xerox products in Seychelles for over two decades and we were able to double our sales revenue by offering custom solutions to many new customers while continuing to offer innovative Xerox machines, consumables and paper products to our large existing base of customers”, said Faure.

He attributed the key to VCS’ success to the after-sales service and 24-hour onsite support by the Xerox trained technical team”.

The company’s award has a greater significance as Seychelles has population of 90,000, and therefore a much small potential market for Xerox products, and VCS was in competition with much larger markets such as South Africa, Mauritius, Botswana and Mozambique.

“It is the result of perseverance and the hard work of our dedicated Xerox team at VCS, and the fact that a few years ago, we adopted a new strategy to improve the level of our customer and technical support and invested heavily in recruiting new technicians and sending them for overseas training; we can now see the results and benefits, said Gilbert Lebon, Managing Director of VCS.

VCS’s Xerox services focus on the sales of printers/copiers, scanners, software, consumables, spares and also paper. 

“The fact that we can cater for a small business operation requiring an all-in-one A4-size colour printer/copier/scanner or a networkable A3-size Workcentre for a medium size operation to production capacity digital press, is proof that Xerox has a solution for everyone,” highlighted Stefan Houareau, the Xerox Business Development Manager.

VCS was founded in 1989 and headquartered in the Seychelles capital Victoria, becoming the authorized Xerox distributor since 1993.

Apart from Xerox services, the company says it provides a wide range of hard ware, software and telecoms solutions with its main clients being banks, hotels, restaurants, corporate service providers, schools, government ministries, parastatals, offshore companies, airlines, Destination Management Companies and also small businesses. 

VCS is also responsible for registering all websites with the Seychelles .SC country code domain name.
