(Seychelles News Agency) - The Seychelles archipelago, with islands described as jewels scattered in the western Indian Ocean, is one of the world’s must-see destinations.

SNA takes a look at 11 hotels that have gotten international recognition.
1. Denis Private Island
Boasting 25 free-standing cottages and villas, guests can enjoy total privacy and get as close to living on their own desert island.
Denis Island won the Luxury Private Resort and Best Scenic Environment awards at the World Luxury Hotel Award in 2016.

2. Fregate Island Private
This hotel was the honeymoon location for once-golden Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
Frégate Island Private features among the recently announced winners of the first annual Honeymoon Awards by BRIDES Magazine.
The hotel was named as one of the Best Indian Ocean island hotels.

3. North Island
The resort’s exclusive but relaxed approach is the main reason why the rich and famous are more than willing to spend money to stay in one of the 11 villas, including the notable event of the honeymoon of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in May 2011. 4. Constance Ephelia
Located on two of the most beautiful beaches on Mahe, the main island, and overlooking the marine national park of Port Launay, the hotel enjoys a unique location set within 120 hectares of land with luxuriant and rare vegetation.
In 2016, the hotel received the Best Luxury Island Resort Award in the Seychelles at the Worlds Luxury Hotels award and was Green Globe certified for its sustainable tourism management.

5. Constance Lemuria

6. Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
The resort with 67 luxurious villas built like tree houses is located at Petite Anse beach in Baie Lazare, a southern district on Mahe. The architecture is a mixture of Creole with French colonial and European influences.
The resort was ranked the 41st Best Resort in the World and fourth in the Top Resorts in the Indian Ocean for 2016 by readers of Condé Nast Traveler and made the list of the most romantic hotels in Seychelles.

7. Le Chateau de Feuilles
This is a romantic nine-room retreat located in a tropical garden on Praslin’s lofty Pointe Cabris overlooking the Baie St. Anne.
It is described as more like the sprawling home of a good friend than a hotel thanks to its low-key, elegant ambiance, highly personal service and doe-eyed Italian mastiff, Buba.

8. Maia Luxury Resort and Spa
An exclusive resort conceived as a relaxing, private sanctuary with 30 rustic-style villas and an outstanding Balinese-style spa. It is set on a granite headland at Anse Louis beach on the southwest coast of the main island, Mahé.

10. Raffles Praslin
Featuring 86 villas, this resort is cradled at the heart of the original Garden of Eden on the second most populated island, Praslin. It is described as the ideal place to rediscover the luxury of spontaneity, infused with Seychellois spirit and traditional Raffles service.

11. Banyan Tree resort
Located on the southwestern coast of Mahe, the resort has 60 exquisite Creole-style villas with superb views of the ocean. It is located near the unspoiled and pristine beach of Intendance.
In 2014, it came second place on a list of the world’s most beautiful hotel beaches and placed in the top ten for hotel rooms with a view.
