(Seychelles News Agency) - Surf, sun, sand are all great during the day, but where to go in Seychelles after watching the sunset's glow fall below the ocean horizon? On weekdays, the nightlife in Seychelles is mostly limited to restaurants and bars. Come Saturday, though, and the options -- namely the nightclubs -- open up.

Admissions into nightclubs, bars and casinos are strictly for the 18 and up crowd. In the first of a three-part series, SNA takes a look at the nightclubs located on Mahe, which operate from late night to early morning.

Katiolo Night Club

The longest operating nightclub in Seychelles is a short drive south from the International Airport at Pointe Larue.

Located by the beach, the establishment has a traditional and tropical décor. One can enjoy the fresh ocean breeze while rocking the dance floor. DJs bring the latest hits with a mix of popular ‘oldies but goodies’.

Tequila Boom Discotheque

With famous local DJs on the mix, you can dance the night away to techno, hip-hop, dancehall and reggae.

The nightclub offers VIP booths which have to be reserved in advance.

Clients can use their credit cards to pay their drinks at the bar. A lot of after-parties are held here.

Barrel Night Club

Barrel night club is popular among reggae lovers but an assortment of music is played, especially dancehall, local creole music, and hip-hop.

The music hall itself is located underground whereas the lounge is located on the ground floor.

Barrel has two pool tables for the fanatics to challenge one another.
