(Seychelles News Agency) - No more paper maps of the islands. Visitors can find their way around the archipelago by downloading an app to their iPhones and iPads.

Jollypress, a Seychellois company, is offering maps of the island nation for free on Apple devices. The maps and tourist guides are available by searching for Seychelles Jollymaps in the Apple app store.

“Now everyone is technology friendly and going digital. We wanted to be ahead of the others. Paper will always be around but this is much easier,” Dr. Lucia Ciunfrini, editor of Jollypress, told SNA.

By the end of January all publication by Jollypress including magazines, tourist guides and maps will be available for download globally in six languages: English, French, Italian, Chinese, German, and Russian.

Ciunfrini says that Apple is a secure platform and caters for the needs of their company’s clients.

“The tour operators in France and Germany mostly have been thanking us for introducing this app because it has made things much easier. Instead of giving them the pocket-size map, they give them the link to the app,” explains Ciunfrini.

Jollypress is working on making the app available for Android phones.

The company’s products for 2016 were launched at the international salon for tourism in London in November last year to raise awareness for European clients.
