(Seychelles News Agency) - The first ambassador of Georgia to Seychelles, Vakhtang Jaoshvili was accredited in a ceremony at the State House this morning, according to a press statement from the Office of the President in Victoria, capital of the archipelago.
Following his accreditation meeting with Seychelles President James Michel, the ambassador said that Georgia is proposing to prepare a double taxation avoidance agreement and an air services agreement among others with the Indian Ocean island nation.
“Georgia has an interest in Seychelles and vice versa. The fact that we are present in Africa means that we pay a lot of attention to having “win-win” relations with African states, and of course Seychelles has a special place in this,” said the Ambassador, according to the statement.
The Georgian ambassador said his country is interested in working with Seychelles to increase cooperation in investment, tourism, economy, education and culture.
Seychelles and Georgia established diplomatic relations in 2013.
